Thank you to everyone who joined us Friday for another news roundup from the week. The news cycle is moving so fast, but it is important to take a minute to digest what we are seeing and not just scroll the headlines.
Desmond Price of
and I broke down a few of the stories that are making a big impact (and ones that may have flown under your radar). We started with a list of fascist moves the Trump regime is taking to limit your freedoms and rights:
Who is Kristi Norm and the Trump regime focused on “liberating” LA from? Take a guess. (NBC NEWS)
Why is it concerning that Sen. Alex Padilla was thrown to the ground and detained for asking a question during a public press conference as a representative of his constituents. Imagine with these fascists will do to you or me…especially when no one is there to film it. (WATCH THE VIDEO)
The Marines detained an American citizen in LA. This was their first detention of a civilian on Friday, part of a rare use of military force to support domestic police.
According to the Associated Press, the man, self-identified as Army veteran Marcos Leao, was wearing headphones when he walked onto the guarded property, not hearing the troops’ commands. The former Army combat engineer said he was on his way to Veterans Affairs when he noticed the Marines telling him to stop. “Of course, I complied when I crossed the first checkpoint, and they told me to get on the ground,” Leao told AP’s crew.
ICE arrested a man for handing out face shields to protesters in LA.
U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli wrote on X that "Alejandro Theodoro Orellana was arrested this morning by @FBILosAngeles on an allegation of Conspiracy to Commit Civil Disorders (18 USC 371) for distributing face shields to suspected rioters on Tuesday." The U.S. Attorney confirmed on X that this is part of the ongoing efforts to arrest and identify people involved in "organizing and/or supporting civil disorder in Los Angeles."
“Conspiracy to commit civil disorders….” Are you kidding me?
Trump threatens to use heavy force on protesters at his parade. (ABC NEWS)
Now since then, the parade did happen and cost taxpayers $45 million dollars. Army Secretary Dan Driscoll defended the cost by saying that the event would boost recruitment. It was poorly attended.
Instead of that $45 million for a parade to appease a draft dodger and felon in the White House, why didn’t they put those funds towards Veterans’ services? Oh that’s right, they are cutting those.
FACE OUR FEARS: PUBLIC HEALTH IS CRUMBLING BEFORE OUR EYES
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced on Monday he is removing all 17 sitting members of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's vaccine advisory committee and replacing them with new members. The Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices (ACIP) makes recommendations on the safety, efficacy and clinical need of vaccines.
Without vaccines, the research and the advancements, we will see people die. Period. There is so much blood on his hands and everyone who continues to keep this unqualified, anti-science, anti-vaxxer in this position of authority.
REALITY CHECK: WE DO NOT WANT ANOTHER WAR
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Israel launched blistering attacks on the heart of Iran’s nuclear and military structure Friday, deploying warplanes and drones previously smuggled into the country to assault key facilities and kill top generals and scientists
Israel asserted the barrage was necessary before its adversary got any closer to building an atomic weapon, although experts and the U.S. government have assessed that Iran was actively working on such a weapon before the strikes.
Iran retaliated by firing waves of ballistic missiles at Israel, where explosions flared in the skies over Jerusalem and Tel Aviv and shook the buildings below. The Israeli military urged civilians, already rattled by the earlier wave of missiles, to head to shelter, as missiles damaged homes and killed two people.

We do not want to be dragged into another World War. Trump and his regime are complicit in this and our tax dollars are continuing to fund this while people starve in our streets at home. This was a huge topic of discussion at Saturday’s No Kings Rally in Pittsburgh, as well.
