Donald Trump and Elon Musk put Teslas on display at the White House

Facts Over Fear: The country may be on literal fire but Trump’s priorities focus on becoming a home shopping network host, instead.

FACE OUR FEARS: Donald Trump is the definition of corruption.

The country may be on literal fire but Trump’s priorities focus on becoming a home shopping network host, instead.

President Donald Trump turned the South Lawn of the White House into a temporary Tesla showroom Tuesday in a conspicuous favor to his adviser Elon Musk, the car company’s billionaire CEO, according to NBC News yesterday.

Videos and photos of Trump and Musk have peppered the internet since Tesla delivered five of its vehicles to the White House and parked them on a driveway. This was just hours after Trump said on Truth Social that he planned to buy a Tesla to demonstrate his support for Musk and Tesla, which has taken a nosedive in the stock market, with shares falling 15%, the steepest drop in five years. Not only that, since mid December, Tesla shares have lost 50% of their value and wiped out over $800 BILLION in market cap.

But back to the free Tesla ad that Trump gave Musk on the people’s lawn at the White House. Trump said that the vehicles were “beautiful” and praised the Cybertruck…a design that most would say is polarizing at best.

And while he did not take a test drive, he did promise to buy one, in particular the red Model S which is listed on the Tesla website for $73,490, or $88,490 for the all-wheel-drive Model S Plaid.

It is truly outrageous to think how this is not a conflict of interest that a sitting president would endorse a product so blatantly. There used to be this thing called ethics. The U.S. Office of Government Ethics which is a separate and independent executive branch agency would normally send a warning about such a thing, but as we know, we are in the upsidedown – and apparently Trump can do anything he wants – so I won’t hold my breath.

Will this little PR stunt have a positive effect on Tesla’s stock? Asked whether his purchase might help Tesla’s stock, Trump said, “I hope it does.”

How is this not a major ethical violation? Remember when then-counselor to President Trump, Kellyanne Conoway —who seems quaint these days— “accidentally” promoted Ivanka Trump’s now-defunct clothing line?

From NBC News: The counselor to President Donald Trump, acted "inadvertently" when she told Americans to "go buy Ivanka's stuff" and has promised never to do it again, the White House ethics office said in a letter made public Wednesday.

The U.S. Office of Government Ethics, a separate and independent executive branch agency, warned the White House that it had "strong reason" to believe that Conway violated ethics rules when she appeared Feb. 9 on Fox News' "Fox & Friends" and made an extensive pitch for Ivanka Trump's clothing line.

Where are they now?

Not only is Trump blatantly endorsing a product that is being pitched on the taxpayers’ front lawn of the White House, but according to multiple outlets including Truth Out, Trump said on Tuesday that he would label attacks on Tesla dealerships as acts of domestic terrorism.

Acts of domestic terrorism.

We are reaching the point where Teslas are going to have more freedoms and rights than women.

REALITY CHECK: But why has Tesla’s stock fallen so fast, anyway?

Well, ever since Musk has gone to Washington, the stock has continued to decline while Tesla facilities have been experiencing peaceful demonstrations as well as vandalism, including fires at charging stations, NBC reported, much of which started after Elon gave a Nazi salute — don’t debate me this is not a Roman hello or whatever else people were trying to gaslight us into seeing or not seeing — during a speech on stage before Trump’s arrival in Washington’s Capital One arena in January.

What this all boils down to is that Musk is desperate. If Tesla’s stock crashes and burns, not only will he lose his top dog spot as richest man in the world, but his whole empire could crash down around him. We know this feeble attempt to rebound the stock with Trump’s QVC-esque debut was to try and appeal to those who might buy the car.

But where this all falls apart is that his most likely buyer would be someone who cares about the environment AND has money to spend on an electric car at that price point. People are boycotting Musk’s product for a reason.

And if their god truly is capitalism, then let it work unfettered – as intended.

Survival of the fittest, right?

Until next time, take care of yourselves, and each other. In solidarity, Natalie
