FACE OUR FEARS: Trump’s latest executive order aims to use the military to enforce the authoritarian regime he is solidifying as we speak.
And it’s no coincidence that the White House lawn was lined earlier this week with 100 mug shots of arrested undocumented immigrants and their alleged crimes just a day before this was signed. But will it hold up in the courts?
Plus: Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s Gucci purse was allegedly stolen on Saturday while she was in a restaurant in Washington, DC…and guess what? The co-conspirator is being held on an immigration detainer, meaning they also could be subjected to deportation in Miami, Fl.
I mean, you gotta get some sympathy when you roll out a plan like this in order for it to work…what better way than a good ol’ fashion purse snatching!
But I digress. So let’s back this up to late Sunday night when the Trump administration began placing dozens of posters of arrested unauthorized immigrants along the White House driveway — in a perfect position for TV journalists who are often reporting live from that vantage spot in front of the mansion.
Axios reported that the posters — which read "ARRESTED" — specify various crimes linked to the pictured immigrants and have the White House's official logo at the bottom.
Posters positioned near the West Wing claim to show undocumented immigrants arrested for "first-degree murder," "sexual abuse of a child," "kidnapping and rape," "murder," "rape of a child," and "distribution of fentanyl." Their names and precise legal statuses aren't included. Convenient, right?
And while yesterday was his 100th day in office (only 1,360 days to go!), he’s been sliding in the polls recently, especially as it concerns the economy and immigration, so it only makes sense that the regime would want to ramp up their efforts more publicly to bolster support for their sinister plans.
Plus, you have to show WHY you need an executive order called: Strengthening and Unleashing America’s Law Enforcement to Pursue Criminals and Protect Innocent Citizens.
It’s a doozy. I read through it several times, watched countless videos of people sharing their analyses, but you don’t need to be a lawyer or constitutional law buff to know what is at the heart of it. This executive order — which will UNDOUBTEDLY be challenged by the courts — is a way to turn the military on its own civilians.
And yes, in case you’re wondering, that’s a big no-no.
So you need the sympathy. You need people to be afraid of having their Gucci purses stolen in public. You need to see the faces of these brown (always brown) “criminals” on the White House lawn so that you, too, can say to yourself: “Well, if it’s in the name of security, I can go along with it!”
And the order gets even more nefarious. If your state or local government tries to stop them in anyway from carrying out these plans, they will be prosecuted. They already arrested (and had to release) one federal judge…what’s going to stop them from arresting more? Or governors that won’t go along?
This is a clear abuse of power yet again as they attempt to consolidate authority to the executive branch of the federal government. Aren’t the Republicans supposed to be all about those states’ rights? Or does that only work when it comes to banning abortion?
In short: They want to use the military to excise power away from the states, consolidate it into Trump’s hands, arrest those who stand in his way, and of course, without that pesky due process — who knows where you’ll end up?
Maybe that’s why they are demanding more death camps be built in El Salvador.
Before we panic (a totally acceptable response to what is transpiring) please remember that the only real thing Trump knows how to do is cause chaos and sow confusion. This executive order is just that. It will be challenged and hopefully fail. However, the mug shots on the lawn and Noem’s purse being stolen makes it clear that they have an agenda.
Fear the immigrant. Be suspicious of your neighbor. Play along or be severely punished. Rinse and repeat.
REALITY CHECK: Don’t be distracted
If we are too busy fighting him and his regime in court over immigration issues and human rights’ violations, it is one less day that anyone will talk about the tariffs tanking the economy, how his regime will deport one million immigrants this year (hasn’t come close to happening) or the fact that his big claim to fame in his first 100 days in office is the discontinuation of the penny.
We must start the process to remove this man and hold him and all who do his bidding accountable for treason and crimes against humanity.
Because if we don’t stop him now, who will?
Until next time, take care of yourselves and each other.
In solidarity,
Natalie
